If the Boeing 747 and colour photography took the mystery out of travelling, now the influencers and the pages of recommendations are finally burying it. Everything has already been discovered and experienced, one finds the same souvenirs in Tanzania as in Jamaica and Thailand. The foreigner has already seen everything he has come to see, he even knows the city better than his own. Everywhere is easy to get to and is ready to be consumed. A world built on imitation, everybody taking the same photos with the same filters and in the same places. “Live your own adventure” has given way to “Live his own adventure”, someone else’s adventure. It is impossible to hide without being surrounded by everyday inputs, by tourists who do not think they are tourists, or photographers who want to tell the story.
